Company Z is conducting recruitment for 50 vacancies, split between senior scientist and junior scientist positions. Applicants can apply for only one of the two positions. The requirements for these positions are as follows:
1. Senior Scientist
2. Junior Scientist
1. Senior Scientist
- Must have worked as a junior scientist for five years at Company Z.
- Must have achieved more than 85% in their postgraduate studies.
2. Junior Scientist
- Must have achieved more than 80% in their postgraduate studies.
- Must hold a doctorate degree.
- Must have at least two years of experience in a government role or three years in a private firm, and must not have previously applied for any position at Company Z.
How many vacancies were there for senior scientists?: Yes
Did Allen score higher than Brian in their postgraduate studies?: No
Will Allen have more than twice the work experience at Company Z compared to Brian after four years, assuming both joined their respective positions at the same time?: Yes

Q.1.
(a) How many vacancies existed for Senior scientists?
We know that in the written examination, there were two candidates for each vacancy of junior scientist. If the vacancies for senior and junior scientists are J and S respectively, we can say J+S = 50.
But 2J and S sat down for written examination => 2J+S=75
From the above two equations, we get J=25, so S=25....YES
(b) Had Allen scored more than Brian in post graduation?
We know for Junior scientists, at least 80% is required while for senior scientists at least 85% is required. However, we do not have any information to suggest that Brian did not score more than 85% or more than Allen…NO
(c) After four years, will Allen have more than two times the work experience in Company Z as compared to Brian, if both joined in respective posts at the same time?
We know Allen has served for 5 years in the company as Junior scientist for sure, so after 4 years, the time taken by Allen will be 9yrs minimum and by Brian 4 years. So the time of Allen is at least 9/4 or 2.25 times…YES

How does marking work in DI question if i get 1 wrong out of 3 will all 3 be considered incorrect or i will get marks for 2 only ?
