Each round (till the 5th) has matches of 6 teams, and 2 teams advance ⇒ in every round the number of teams becomes 1/3 of what it was.
After five such rounds, the sixth round has only 2 teams.
So, if m is the number of teams in Round-1,
m/3^5 = 2 ⇒ m=2 x 3^5 = 2 x 243 = 486
Number of teams that participate in Round-3:
n=m/3^2=486/9=54
Employees in Round-3 = team size a × teams in Round-3 n = an
As n = 54, an=ax54.
Since a team is “multi-member,” a≥2 and a is an integer.
The only multiple of 54 in the list with a≥2 is 54×9=486
Therefore,

Questions needs better phrasing - until 5th round , excludes 5th ( balance text in question forces you to infer it is inclusive of 5th round.
Moreover - " with each match consisting of six teams competing against each other." - so 1 match with 6 teams - or 1 match = 6 teams playing each team once in a round robin? and then 2 teams emerging..( Chatgpt says that irrespective of which option u pick here - you get the same answer)
