At NorthBridge Fulfillment Center, a standard workday is 8 hours and a standard workweek is 5 workdays. A shift supervisor observed that a clerk can scan and log incoming packages at a rate of 1 package every 50 seconds. The supervisor wants to restate this rate using the warehouse’s standard units.

Based on the given information, select for pkg/day the equivalent rate in packages per workday and select for pkg/week the equivalent rate in packages per workweek. Make only two selections, one in each column.

1 package every 50 seconds
(3600 seconds/50seconds/package)=72package/hour
Package per workday (8 Hours): 72*8=576
Package per workweek (5 days): 576*5=2880
Hence, 576 & 2880.

Time taken per package = 50 sec
8 hours in seconds = 8 hrs x 60 min x 60 sec

Package that can be done in one workday, i.e. 8 hours = (8 x 60 x 60 / 50) seconds = 576 packages

Packages that can be done in 5 days of work week = 576 x 5 = 2880 packages

work day hrs - 8 hrs
work week - 5 days
rate = (1/50) package per sec
so in hrs it would be 72 package per hour.
so for 8 hr shift= 576 packages

and for 5 days week = 2880 (576*5)

576 pkg / day
2,880 pkg / week

We convert the given rate 1/50 from seconds to minutes (x60) and then to hours (x60) = 3,600 x 1/50 = 72 packages per hour.

We then scale 72 x8 (hours per workday) = 576 then scale by x5 (days per workweek) = 2,880

For per day, in 8hrs there are 8*60*60 sec thus
8*60*60/50 = 576 pkg/day
And for the workweek, since 5 workdays, 5*8*60*60/50 = 2880 pkg/workweek

Given that 1 package is processed every 50 seconds. We have 60*60*8 seconds in 1 day for which work is done

60*60*8/50 packages would be processed. That comes out to be 576 and multiply the same by 5 for a week

Therefore, pkg/day = 576 and pkg/week = 2880

This is a pretty straightforward problem, you just have to calculate how many seconds are in a workday, divide the number by 50 (the amount of seconds taken for each package) and this will give you the result for the first column. Then multiply the result found for the first column by 5 (the number of days people work in a week) and this is the result for the second column.

workday = 8h = 8*3600 seconds
workweek = 5 days

8*3600 / 50 = 576 packages per day
576 * 5 = 2880 packages per week

In 50 sec i package so in 1 sec 1/50 package so in 8 hours = 8*3600 secs , 8*3600/50 packets = 8*72 packets = 576 packets in 8 hours or per day . Since in a workweek 5 days hence in a workweek 5* 576 packets or in a workweek 2880 packets.

At NorthBridge Fulfillment centre:

Standard Work day = 8 hours

Standard Work week = 5 work days.

Scan and log rate of incoming packages = 1 package every 50 seconds.

Package per day And package per week = ?

8 hours = 8*60*60 seconds.

For 50 seconds, we pack 1 package.

Then for, (8*60*60) packages = (8*60*60)/50 = 576 packages per day.

The number of packages per work week

= 5 days = 5* (576) = 2880 package per week.

Standard Workday is 8 hours , standard workweek is 5 days. It takes 1 package for every 50 seconds. so Total number of seconds in 1 hour is 3600 and in 8 hours will be 28800 seconds.
So , equivalent rate in packages per day is 28800/50 = 576 pkg/workday

So , equivalent rate in packages per week is 576*5 = 2880 pkg/workweek
