A city library system compared 11 of its branches. The table shows the number of study rooms and public computers at each branch, whether the branch has a makerspace, café, and parking, and its average number of weekly visitors. System-wide averages are included where appropriate.

For each of the following statements, select True if the statement can be verified to be true based on the information provided. Otherwise, select False.
Use the sort function smartly to arrange the table into "chunks" and "ranks" that are easy to analyze.

Statement 1: Every branch with average weekly visitors between 1,500 and 2,000 has fewer study rooms than the system-wide average.
Note that the system-wide average number of study rooms is 6.18. Sort the table by average weekly visitors. The branches with between 1,500 and 2,000 average weekly visitors are the chunk in the middle. One of them, Keystone, has 8 study rooms, more than the average. False.

Statement 2: There is a positive correlation between the number of public computers and the average number of weekly visitors.
You can sort here by average weekly visitors or by public computers to get ranks that you can compare. The branch with the lowest number of public computers, Delta, also has the lowest number of weekly visitors. Harbor has the highest numbers for both.

More importantly, scan the column you did not sort by. Since it generally follows the same direction as whichever column you sorted by (e.g., ascending to ascending), there is a positive correlation. True. (Note: Since you don't have the tools to easily do a full correlation analysis, eyeballing for correlation in this way is enough. The test will never give you a true "borderline" case.)

Statement 3: Branches with fewer study rooms than the system-wide average are less likely to have a makerspace than branches with more study rooms than the system-wide average.
Sort by study rooms to get your two chunks. 7 branches have fewer than the system-wide average, and 3 of them have a makerspace. 4 branches have more study rooms than the system-wide average, and 3 of them have a makerspace. Since 3/7 is less than 3/4, this statement is True.

The takeaway: Many Table Analysis questions can be solved efficiently by using the sort function, either sorting into chunks or into ranks.
