Ding w/o interview. CBS definitely took its time with my application. Submitted mid-Dec and heard back yesterday. They encouraged me to look into their EMBA program, said it would be a good fit for me. Did anyone else get any such recommendation? I love CBS, but was a little surprised that i would be considered for an EMBA with only 7 yrs of work-ex! I guess they could be right and may be i should look into the EMBA.

I have 7 years work experience and was recently accepted into the full-time MBA program. But Columbia called and is also offering me a spot in the EMBA program (avg age 32) so no, 7 years isn't too little. Has anyone heard of anyone else being offered a spot in both Columbia's full-time and EMBA programs? They said since I am not looking to change industries (work as quant equity analyst at asset management firm) and far enough along in my career, the EMBA might be a better fit. What is their motivation? Just want to make more money off me ($105k vs $144k for two year EMBA)? I am considering the EMBA since I was recently promoted at my employer. Seems like I'd get the same education. What would I miss? Less club involvement, less recruiting, and less drinking... What do others think?
Is your entrance dependent on getting a higher score? What will you need to get to get in? Or did they say, just retake it, and we will reconsider your new score. How many times have you taken it?
Also, are you looking to get into a quantitative position? If so, that could be another reason.

I just got accepted on condition that I re-take the GMAT! Anyone in the same boat?? This sucks!
Yeah I've never head of this either -- what was your score?
if "deposit must be received by xx date," does this mean that an electronic transfer must be initiated two to three business days before the deadline date?

What is your deposit date? Wondering if there will be some movement on the waitlist after the deposit deadline...
Guys, Admissions called and told me that I am admitted regardless of the new score. They said that based on my other scores, they are positive I can do better so I should re-take it. I guess they want CBS average GMAT score to remain high. I hvae no problem with that, I guess. Huge sigh of relief

hey everyone.... i was wondering if there are a # of ppl watching this thread whose dealine (12 weeks) came due this week.... or should be reached this week. IS it logical to assume for those of you that applied on 1/6 or 1/7 should recieve final verdict any day.
I'm wondering the same thing. Applied 1/6, but I believe application went complete around 1/9 or 1/10, so was expecting to hear last week. I'm assuming this is bad news!
I spoke to admissions the other day. They said it can be even longer than 12 weeks from when your application went "Under Review" if you interviewed. So, I applied on 1/6, it went "Under Review" on 1/20 and I interviewed on 3/8. Therefore, for me, my 12 weeks is up next Wednesday. Although, they noted that it could take even longer than that. I HATE this wait.
