Waitlisted.. its going to be a very painful wait! I dont know whether to be happy or sad.. was really hoping to get in.. any way there is still some hope
Any idea how many people are admitted from the waitlist? How hopeful should I be?

I received a call, followed by an email, from my AdCom interviewer, but I did not get a call from Dee. I assume it's not a big deal. My password works for the Prematric site, so I'm assuming the acceptance is legit :)

:?: I need a little help here. :?:

I've attached a portion of the form which is used to add recommenders for the HBS application, and my problem lies with two of the last three boxes.

Employer
Context of relationship

In my case, two of my recommenders are no longer with the same company they were in when I was working under them. They have moved on. So how do I fill up these two boxes?

Employer: Should this be their current employer or the employer when I was working with them?
Context of relationship: This in my case can either be 'Current Employer' or 'Previous Employer'.

And also, I suppose that the Address required in the boxes are the residential addresses of the recommenders? Then why do I have to give their office phone number????

I'm confused. :?:

Yeah, my password works too...and the profile has all my correct information, etc. I haven't heard from anyone from HBS, though. Maybe later today. I should not be worried, I know- I'm just paranoid!

I totally had the same question--I can't even remember what I said when I filled it out though. One of my recommenders was my boss at my company but recently left and is at another company, so I just said the current title/company, but that it was my current employer and my direct manager. Hm. Very confusing. I hate drop-down menus.

My understanding is :
Employer: you give their current employer as I assume they ask this to call you recommenders and not feel stupid about who they work for.

Context of relationship: They are now your "previous employers" as I assume you have now someone else to report to within your company.

That's just my interpretation...

All,

I have a question about an essay topic. I chose the "undergrad academic background" essay and would like your opinion about the following:

Is "academic" restricted to what is in the classroom or can I have one paragraph in it about a school association?

Also, for those who got admitted (congrats to you guys!!!), could you please let us know the essays you chose to see if there is a trend...

Thank you

Do we have any idea as to how many of the final admits are selected each round, is it really 1/3 each round or is the proportion in Round 1 or maybe 3 higher. Anyone ever heard anything about that?

Congrats to all accepted applicants and for those of you who didn't get in, don't give up on your goals.

I'm applying in round 2 and was wondering:

1) what does the acceptance letter say? does it give the applicant any clue about why he/she was accepted?

2) Or, did the adcom represeantative give you guys any clue about why they chose you during the phone call?

Nope, it was pretty generic. She just said good job, basically.

Well technically they were my supervisors and not my employers. And yes it would appear weird if HBS were to call up on the offlice line and realise they got a different company's office. Is there anywhere from where I can clarify this?

Congratulations on your Kelloggs admit. It's very difficult to say why you didn't make it to one particular school. They have a variety of issues with any given candidate anyways, and often they have to compromise a good candidate for a worthy one. And worthy need not be good.

Kelloggs is a great school, and you'll have a great career ahead. Good luck :)
