Jivana,

Do you have any reasons to believe that there would be approximately 200 interview spot left after the 2/12? Reading from HBS director blogs and the HBSGuru sounds more like less than 100 interview spots would be available after 2/12.

Does anyone know HBS round 2 interview invites history that can shed some light?

Apparently, this is the building within which our fates will be sealed. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Yes, it is.

I visited there last week and had to look at the campus map and enlist the help of current students I met in the library to find it. The whole campus looks like a very small suburb, with most of the office buildings being homes originally.

EDIT: I should add that I was looking for it around 10pm on Sunday night.

I saw this posting from hbsguru (dot) com

HBS Round 2 interview invites will be sent out Friday, Feb 12th

NEW FROM HER MAJESTY–MOST ROUND TWO HBS INTERVIEW INVITES WILL GO OUT ON FRIDAY Feb 12th–(and who predicted that!!!! ME dats who) –and it seems this time, if you dont get the invite on Feb 12th, well, only a trivial number will be given after that. So no more trickle down effect, just a bomb and some late falling debris.

How true is this? So if i don't get interview invite on 2/12 that is pretty much end of story?

it's true... https://www.hbs.edu/mba/admissions/blog.html

I wish schools shared some stats on the applications by round... Is there any specific info to show application volume for the round 2 at HBS? I heard in the previous year app volume fell in R2

I do know that the Dean's House used to be where the Dead had his residence, and has now been converted for communal use. But the others too? That would make for an interesting history. Any idea where I could read about it online?

Not sure, but every single one of those buildings on the main ground (between Baker Library and the Charles River) looked like a house. I should have added the following caveat "I'm guessing" at the end of my last post.

But yes, after this Friday we won't have to worry about this application - one way or another.

"Most, but not all, of these invitations will go out on February 12 so that all invitees have equal access to locations and dates." This is the statement from the Admission director that throws me off.. so Vague.. Some say this Friday is it else forget about it... Others say there's hope.. Not sure what to believe anymore

At the moment, I'm in a good mood. I say, keep hope alive. :)

Then again, if my flight gets canceled due to excessive snow at JFK tomorrow night - I will say "Forsake hope"

And on Friday - I won't be saying anything much anyways :-D

But for now, I'm sticking with "Keep hope alive" - but still prefer Friday over more waiting.

Now only if I hadn't pissed Dee off in NY last year.

Don't want to jack the thread here but I was hoping someone could direct me towards any online forum or admission information (other than the official stuff from the website) for the Kennedy School. I am applying for the Joint program and was hoping to get some info on how my fellow HKS applicants were faring. Thanks!

Probably a dumb question but I'm a little confused. I have saw some comments from blogs and forums that some HBS candidates were admitted without interviewed by adcom, does this practice still exist today? Or all admitted students would have been interviewed by adcom?

Does anyone know what time the interview invites will be sent out on the 12th? I need to know at what point I should start hyperventilating.

I forget who said it earlier on this thread but I think historicaly it has been around noon (and around 1pm for R1).

But I'd look 3 or 4 pages back to find the original mod-post.

To the best of my knowledge and information from forums an interview is a prerequisite to admission. So NO interview means NO Admission. Any one else who can confirm otherwise?

To add to this check out HBS website...

"After your application has been submitted and reviewed, you may be invited to an interview. The interview is an indicator of interest, but is not a guarantee of admission; it serves as one element among many that are considered as we review your application. All interviews are conducted by invitation only, at the discretion of the Admissions Board. If invited, however, you must participate in order to complete the application process."
