- Tier 2 State University Cumulative GPA: 3.0
- GMAT: 700 (approx 50+ more than what I've been scoring on practice tests...still studying for a few months)
- Will have 2-3 years of basic accounting/finance position for a corporation

Can I hit top 30? Details if you have any!

I'm not an admissions consultant, but I have a very similar profile to yours. I just wanted to share my experience. I graduated from BYU with a 2.95 GPA and was applying to b-schools and would enter with about 2.5 years post grad experience. I scored 710 on the GMAT.

I admittedly didn't really do my homework. I applied to 8 schools:

Wharton (ding no interview)
Kellogg (Ding with interview)
MIT (Ding no interview)
Dartmouth (Ding no interview)
Darden (Ding no interview)
North Carolina (Ding no interview)
Texas (waitlist and finally...ding)

Wake Forest (accepted in 3rd round)

I ultimately decided to wait and re-apply to see where I could get in with a couple more years work experience. I'll be re-applying this fall a little more humble!

I don't know your profile but I think that you may be able to get into schools in the 30-20 range. Let me know if you have any specific questions about my experience, I would be happy to share.

Take that Kellogg Interview with a grain of salt, I think they interview all their applicants.

You didn't really provide much info, but of what you provided there's nothing really that stands out as fatal, but there's nothing that stands out as exceptional either. Again, if you are a middle-of-the-road working professional who can put together decent applications you should be able to get into the lower half of the top 30 schools, with the upper half of the top 30 schools being more of a stretch (i.e. focus on the lower half, and choose 1-2 schools in the upper half as your stretch schools).
