Has anyone on the WL received an invitation yet? Scanning the thread, it doesn't appear that anyone has.

Any feeling for when people on the WL might start hearing?

Got the interview invite today.

Congrats! Are you a R2 applicant?

Yes I am a R2 applicant. The interview will be via phone this week. Do you think not being able to visit campus for the interview will limit the likelihood of acceptance?

thanks! Is it just me or is there a serious lack of information about this event available in the info packet they send out/on the website.

Yes! No matter how many times you tell yourself to relax, it never helps! Although, it definitely makes me feel better that no one is posting acceptance notices yet!
:)

Good luck everyone!

Please add me to the roll call.

Round 2 applicant
applied: 1/7
Sent updated GMAT score / unofficial report on 1/27. Official report received 2/8. Despite the late score update, I was still considered for Round 2 according to the admissions office.

Still no word. I am thinking I'm doomed but they did say they were going to be releasing invites until the end of the month. Has anyone received an invite this week?

Probably should have asked this earlier but i'm curious what people thing about my profile and whether its a fit for yale.

My stats are:
- 27/Pakistani/Male
- Lived in UK, Pakistan and US (current) for 9 years each
- 3.88 cumulative GPA at a state school - top ten graduate in both my finance and econ majors
- Lots of extracurricular in college (tutoring, mentoring international students, research assistance, credit union volunteer, etc.)
- Studied abroad in London during junior year
- 700 GMAT (Q 67%, V 97%)
- 2 yrs middle market i-banking; 3 years transaction modeling/consulting at big 4
- solid reccs from supervisor and a client (who I worked with for 9 months)
- Founded a Chicago chapter of a charity that funds infrastructure development in pakistan in jan '09
- Career advisor and mentor to govt. run uni in pakistan for past 5 years
- Short-term goal: international corp dev / strategy for multinational looking to invest/acquire in emerging markets
- Long-term goal: work for world bank's private equity arm: the International Finance Corp. and provide strategic advice to companies in developing countries
- Felt that my essays were well written...had current and former bschool students review them extensively.

I was expecting to at least get an interview since I feel like I dont have any major weakness in my app..apart from a low quant score which my 5 years of analytical work exp. and college courses should mitigate (wrote an opp essay to that effect). At this point, I guess it doesnt matter but if anyone else has an idea of what I might have f'd up, I am all ears.

Hi everyone

I will be interviewed tomorrow via Skype. Do you have any words of wisdom for me that will be crucial in the call :)

What are the difficult questions? What will it be like? What areas did you focus on?

I'm not sure what they tell you for phone/skype interviews, but definitely be prepared for an admissions committee member (and not just a second year student). Also, my interviewer began with three questions about high school. Definitely not what I expected. Otherwise it was pretty standard and I think the most important thing is to explain what differentiates Yale in your mind and why you fit to that vision of the school.

I had my interview today via Skype.

I think my call went very well. I spoke with an assistant director in the admissisons for 40 mins in a video call. He started with asking why I chose my undergrad, asked about my work experience and why an mba (and why now). All these questions are quite basic and something everybody should be prepared for in a call like this. In the latter part of the call he asked more direct about why Yale and what my plans are after graduation. In the end he asked if I wanted to tell him anything that he had not asked about and I asked before we concluded if there was anything in my understanding of Yale and what I wanted to get out of a Yale SOM MBA that was incorrect or misunderstood.

The call was very friendly and he was very happy with my knowledge of the school. He said that he was very happy with this and would advocate on my behalf for the committee - they might always say this but it felt right....

I kind of would be surprised if I would get a ding after this - but that might be based on the good weather today and how generally happy I am these days :)

Best of luck to all of you!

Was it Mr. White? He was my interviewer as well. He didn't ask me why Yale, but did ask me why MBA and why I have the short term goals that I have. Overall a very good interview.

I noticed on the SOM discussion board that somebody asked when the results may be out and it says, it might before the end of the round. Last week, the answer was possibly "next week". Now it is maybe before the end of the round. I'm having a feeling we won't hear until close to April 2.

Any thoughts?

The comments you were looking at are weeks old. On the Yale forum, any additional note on a specific thread will move it to the top of the thread. The more recent comments about some decisions likely to be released this week still seem to be the most up-to-date.

Has anyone heard anything?

Back from my international trip and back in New Haven, finally!

It was an awesome trip and I truly had an amazing learning experience, etc.

If YSOM is indeed releasing any decisions soon, best of luck to all the applicants. Uncertainty drains the life out of all the applicants, but it's part of the process.

@trendsetter - congratulations on a successful interview, and hopefully you will hear some good news soon.

@orgninja - thanks for helping out fellow applicants by answering questions in this thread! no wonder you got into YSOM!

So nobody has received a decision yet for R2? On the Yale admissions blog, it mentioned that a few early decisions may be released this week. Has anyone heard?

I was interviewed back in February and I am anxiously awaiting...
