Quick application question: CBS asks for the 'employer's total employees' and 'employer's total revenue', but caveats each with 'if self employed'. I work for a private equity firm, so I'm not sure how to answer this question, or if I am even supposed to answer it (the partners are self employed in one sense - the general partnership - but the actual fund has outside investors). Technically, a PE firm's revenue is totally irrelevant, so I'm contemplating including the total revenue of our underlying portfolio companies. Any PE guys/gals who have already submitted their apps have any advice on this? Thanks...

LGB - coming from a law firm, did you answer the revenue question?

You work at PE shop and for someone else. Don't need to submit that info. It matters if you started your own company to show it's a legitimate company, and a way through which they can verify your employment history.

I work at a start-up, but am not self-employed and I didn't answer this question. So if you're in PE, don't worry about this.

SaMoCU - Since you've been accepted, your response is all I needed. Thanks. Seemed awkward the way they worded it.

Before I was admitted to CBS, I reviewed the Wharton app and it asks for that information, but for companies that you FOR as well. I worked at a bulge and thought it was a little strange that a school would ask for that information.

Good luck dude.

Hey man, I work in PE and left that info blank. I was accepted, so it obviously means nothing to them in our industry. Good luck.

Greetings! First time posting - thanks to everyone for sharing information...

I recently submitted my application and would like to solicit feedback on a couple of questions: how do you think CBS looks at entrepreneurs? My primary interest in the school is not Finance but is in the entrepreneurial program. And also, what's this spreadsheet I keep reading about?

Thanks again.

Second recommendation submitted this evening - let the waiting begin.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but what has been the average waiting time between submission, application under review and invitation to interview?

Judging by the spreadsheet. Few have received invites within days. Others have waited from 1.5 weeks to 5 weeks.

To those that get dinged:

If you don't get dinged by any of the schools you applied to, you didn't apply to good enough schools. Remember, you are trying to maximize the value of the school/s you DO get accepted at, which by definition means you'll miss on some. Don't stress, just focus that frustration into energy for the essays for subsequent applications.

I submitted on the 1st for Columbia ED, also applying to Stern, Kenan Flagler (UNC), Darden, and deciding between Fuqua (Duke) and Wharton.
