Ah, its been a while since I've heard back from cbs (interview complete 9/17), and my apt lease renewal is due tomorrow! I guess its safe to say ill be expecting a ding...bit disheartening that more ED candidates have received admissions than j-termers on this board. I feel it would be in the best interest of all j-termers to know sooner, espec if some have apt leases and will have trouble getting out of em (for candidates outside nyc).

Good luck to all, I will be submitting my lease tommorow :(

I agree, and I find it puzzling that they haven't responded to many J-termers after they returned from their trip, especially noting how soon J-term is going to start. International students might face problems arranging their trip/accomodation/etc if they get a positive answer late.

Given that it's been almost 3 weeks since your app went complete, you might want to reach out to the adcom and explain your situation. I recall there were a couple people on the waitlist in the summer who had to make a decision, reached out to the adcom, and were accepted the next day.

Of course you don't want to annoy them... anyone else have an opinion on this?

I actually contacted adcom last week and they sent me a response, noting that they have took in consideration my situation. Perhaps it would have been better for me to apply earlier, but eh, I completely forgot my apt situation.

I could take a gamble (I had a 5 day response for interview, had an extremely promising interview, j-term program truly fits my needs since i will come back to my startup (no career change), and my startup is funding my MBA). Then I got a few aspects working against me (young age, not so hot gmat/gpa)

If I was you I'd hold off on the lease a little longer if possible... you seem like a strong j-term candidate and it seems like you should get a decision anytime now.

Any status update since your recommendations went in? My app still shows as incomplete, so just trying to get a feel for how long it will be before I go under review.

One thing that we should all remember is that the quality of applicants on these boards skews high. IE, the average GMAT on our spreadsheet for Columbia is 720, which is higher than the average GMAT of all admitted applicants. Anyway, I'm taking a break on these applications until Monday! I have essay fatigue.

That's great news bionic45! Congratulations. Can you please add your details to the spreadsheet. I don't see you in it.

Added. For some reason though my info is below all of the other info (including the averages, etc.) Also my GMAT is 740 not 720. Please update if you can. GPA should be 4.0. Thanks!

Ya it works that way because of the summary statistics and how the spreadsheet was initially set up. We just manually adjust it after someone inputs their info.

Did anyone who stated they would apply ED in the spreadsheet but don't have a submission date entered end up submitting by the ED deadline?

Yes, I submitted on 9/28, but since the app is showing incomplete, I wasn't sure how to report that. All the materials are in there, including rec's, so I believe its just a delay in status change.

i think they need to start providing us jterm applicants with some decisions soon - program starts in three months, and people can't have their lives on hold forever.

anyone think there will be movement today?

Completely agree with you guys. It makes no sense that there has been no movement at all recently on the J-term applicants. My firm needs me to go on a 3 month posting abroad beginning next year and while it is very interesting, I cannot accept since I am holding out hope for CBS. If I get dinged then I miss a huge opportunity to do some interesting work and perhaps build up a stronger resume, but if I accept and then bail they wont be too happy. You have got to think that the next 10 days have to see some major movements, particularly for you international applicants. I feel my life is on hold until I hear something from them, pretty soon they are going to have to pause the ED reviews and focus on us J -termers
