Hey everyone, got my interview invite tonight. Submitted 10/5 and went under review 10/13 I think, for those wondering. Took awhile, so don't lose hope.
Question on the out-of-town interview request process for those who have done it. As you know, the search spits out 3 contacts, and it says you can do it two more times for a max of 9 contacts. Did you go ahead and e-mail 9 people, or did you do 3 and then see if you heard from any of them? I want to reach out to a number of people and try to get the interview done quickly, but I'm I'm worried that if I hit the search button again its going to replace the 3 names I have on there, rather than add to them, and if I hear back from one of those people I won't be able to confirm that I'm interviewing with them in the system.

I would recommend going by their instructions. They require you to reach out to the first 3. So send them all an email and give them about a week to respond. I got responses from all three and then ultimately went with the person with whom it was most mutually convenient to interview with. Only if you don't hear back from these 3 should you contact the next 3. You don't want a situation where you need to tell some 8 odd people 'erm... thanks but I'm going with someone else'. These alumnus have volunteered to be Columbia Ambassadors and they know that this is interview time so they will respond either to say they are free or not. I would suggest that you follow the school's instructions.
