I wonder if the early admit round is over. Fbook request volume is at zero, and doesn't seem like there's much movement on this thread from those who applied ED.

I'm an ED applicant, interviewed late November. They called me a few days ago for additional information - just a 15 minute phone conversation with a few extra questions - and then said I'd be hearing very shortly. So the ED round isn't quite over yet, but I'm sure it's just about there. I'm hanging out on the bubble here, trying not to have a nervous breakdown.

Makes sense, I figure there are definitely a few more to go. With RD interview invites, are the ones who got those just superstars? I was looking at the dates and it seems that the submission dates of those who got invites ranged from late September to early November. Obviously it's a fool's errand to try to figure that out but wasn't sure if anyone had any thoughts. Since a November RD got an invite, is it just about over for kids who applied RD before that?

For those of you who have gotten calls, first of all, congrats! Second of all, my question is, did they call you on your work phone during the day? Or always cell phone. I'm nervously awaiting, but working away from my office for a few days, so I don't want to miss a call that goes to my desk :-)

I missed the call on my cell phone, but the Adcom member left me a message to call her back. So I'd just check your work voicemail occasionally.

Same thing happened to me.

Zoya, looking at last year's thread, it looks like 2 people heard on Monday of next week. One admit, one deferral to regular decision. Both of them interviewed post Thanksgiving. Everyone who interviewed before Thanksgiving (like me) heard today at the latest. That's out of people who posted here anyway - obviously a small sample of the overall applicant pool.[/quote]

Got my admit call this afternoon. Submitted 10/5, under review shortly after that, interview the Friday before Thanksgiving, went complete the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, got a call from adcom with a few extra questions on Monday, and got the admit call today. Good luck to any ED applicants still waiting - I know it's painful. And good luck to all the RD applicants! Looking forward to getting to know a lot of you.

anybody else here get a deferred decision? any insights on how to go about this wait period? is it better to not bombard them with information? I'm not quite sure what they want to see or hear as I'm not planning on retaking the gmat and there isn't a promotion in sight.

Hi everyone.

An international CBS ED applicant here.

I sent my application October 6. Status changed to Under review pretty quicky after. October 28 I got an interview invitation. I was interviewd on November 16 (thought it went pretty well, I didn't ask but the interviewer said that he's going to give good feedback). November 29 status changed to Interview complete.

Since then I'm anxiously waiting. I can't imagine that waiting for so long is a good sign... (I wasn't deferred yet either, status is still Interview complete).

Is there anyone here with a similar story?
I'd rather be rejected, but at least I'd like to know by now. Until when they are committed to send decisions to all ED applicants? (I find the term "Early decision" ironic as there's nothing early about that :wink:

My best guess is that you are one of the final ones "on the bubble." CBS wouldn't keep you waiting this long without thinking there was a 50/50 chance or better they'd admit you, otherwise they'd just defer you and see a little more of the applicant pool. They wouldn't keep you waiting because it's not in their best interests to annoy applicants, given hits to a school's reputation can spread quickly via the internet nowadays. Of course, if you were a sure thing to get in, they'd have accepted you already too. If you are a college bball junkie and follow March Madness, I'd expect you to be one of the "Last Four In" or one of the "Last Four Out." Here's wishing you luck.
