can someone who scheduled alum interview help with how they chose the interviewer? Looks like the 1st alum schedule page says 4 alum names will be given; the next page in the process contradicts it by saying only 3 alum names will be given

Well, I can probably count myself as from Eastern Europe and I got an invite. Stats - 740, 3.95 GPA, 7y WE in consulting/ IB. Wish you all good luck in the second wave!
By the way, if anyone has already had his/her 2nd round interview - are there still the same behavioral questions as in the first round?

hey guys, i read that more than 40% of applicants get interviews... doesn't it sound kinda high?

I've heard it is around 40% and not much more than 40%... 40% of those who interview get admitted so in total around 16% of those who apply get an admit which sounds about right for Wharton.

There have been a few discussions of this topic recently (probably a couple of pages back). I'm under the impression that the percentage interviewed used to be higher than it is now. I don't think Wharton has issued anything definitive on the topic (using recent numbers), but my impression is that they now interview between 35-50% (probably closer to the lower end) of applicants - and a less than half of those interviews go on to get offers.
Again, I'm not citing anything specific - just my takeaways from the discussion thus far.
Congratulations. One step closer to the destination. Good luck!

That information is great for interviews with other schools but unfortunately out of date for Wharton! Things like "Alum interviews can run longer than the 30 mins and are often more conversational and less structured" are not true any more.

are you saying that now alum interviews are run just the same as on-site ad com interviews? how does wharton ensure this or what is your source for saying so

My source is interviewing with an alumnus during R1! I strongly encourage you and all other R2 interviewers to read through this entire thread.. a lot of discussion has taken place during the R1 interview phase about the new interview format and everything you need to know can be found by reading through this thread. There should even be a link to the poets and quants website that lists the exact questions that interviewers are told to ask.
