No. If you are R2, stay put.

Last year, few more invitations went out for R2 applicants in early to mid March (after Consortium decision date). Hopefully, you guys will hear good news.

I wish everyone waiting lots of good news this week and next since the R1 admits have responded, the consortium people have been notified of admits and fellowship and the current students are out - this is the time of the waiting! Just think that less than 3 weeks from now you'll know your fate, stay calm and patient!

Nink - what types of activities are usually planned for the Welcome Weekend? I havent seen the official itinerery posted yet and was just wondering what your experience was like.

In the past years, they had little bit of everything.

You get to meet your fellow admitted students, current students, faculty, welcome reception, and other meet&greet etc. There are happy hours, dinners/desserts, and other networking events. You get little workshops on how to find housing, what to expect before school starts, campus tour, financial aid, mock classes, club fairs, open house, various showcases, etc etc.

Basically, it's our last opportunity to wine and dine you guys - ease any doubts or questions you guys may have about attending YSOM, etc. (BOTTOMLINE - IT WILL BE FUN! I promise)

In addition, you guys will get invitations for regional get-togethers. Make sure you guys attend those too. You will meet some great alums and current students. If you guys are on the west or east coast, attend Yale alum galas as well. Those are attended by alums from SOM, Law School, Yale College, etc. If you ever had doubts about the quality of Yale SOM alums, it will open your eyes.
