I will be really surprised if tuck decides not to call admits this year. The school prides on the whole personal theme. Lets wait and see. Or maybe they have made the calls to all the admits and the rest of us on gmatclub are waitlists and dings....HOPE NOT

It's 12:30pm in Hanover and not a peep...I guess tomorrow is our day- unless they plan on emailing out all decisions at 5pm Friday...

this is indeed a major shift from Tuck's own policy of informing admitted applicants by calling them in advance.

I think the calls will probably start tomorrow afternoon. If they make the calls from Monday (yes, I know they have done that in the past), they dont even need to release the results on the website because people will know the non-admit outcome already by the virtue on not getting called by Wednesday!!

So if they only call people from Thurday evening or Friday morning, they can be personal AND not release the result by elimination too far ahead. Given that each call is unlikely to to take more than 2-3 minutes and allowing for another 2 minutes between calls, each adcom member can make 20 calls an hour. If 4 of them call at simultaneously, it will only take around one hour to call 25% of the entire class !!

So long as nobody has recd a call, we are fine .. The panic will probably set in if there isnt a call in a few hours from the first person ..

Got a call from an unknown number and was cut off after 1 second. i was freaked out.
then checked my application page and email, but found nothing.

Anyone know if they will be calling from a 603 or unknown number?

a friend of mine just called the office and the lady who answered said there will be no calls, just the 5 pm link on friday.

i think probably because they received way too many apps and they don't have enough resources to call.

i dont tihnk its a resource for calling issue, they'll be making a similar # of calls as they have every year... but perhaps a resource issue for reviewing apps since there were so many

But if they're only calling those admitted then it would be the same number of calls......
I have to say I almost like this better (though I would have preferred to know about it from the beginning) no hoping the phone will ring just remembering what time to go and check it online. They can call me the week after to congratulate me if they want to add the personal touch.

i agree, i find no calls hard to believe. i dont find it surpising the lady said that, but think it may be a generic response she's supposed to say, perhaps reality could be different?

What's going on with Tuck! No loans for international students! No phone calls to admitted students! Makes me think they laid people off from their admissions team.
The economy...when are we going to be on the sunnier side?

just that the idea that tuck, of all schools, would shy away from calling, seems really unexpected. maybe its true, but like mentioned earlier in this forum, really seems to go against their culture and who they are
