Hi all, for those who got invites, just wondering if you have to have some sorts of connections with the school or its admission office to get an invite? I've heard rumors about it. If it's true then I would have no chance because I have no connection whatsoever. Please let me know if you have NO connection/network but still get an invite... thanks
why Stanford is not that popular among GC users? Stanford has a very high number of applicant, around the same levels with CBS, NYU, Yale, Wharton etc. but the Stanford page is not very active. Only 52 pages or so, whereas the other schools have over 100 pages

HBS has around 10,000 applicant right? and on GC HBS's topic has around 110 pages so far. Stanford has around 7,000 applicants and Stanford topic has 54 pages. Columbia, Wharton, Booth they should also have somewhere around 6-8,000 applicant and they all have over 100 pages of posts.
So why Stanford is left at mid 50s in terms of pages of posts. I guess Stanford is not a popular school among GC users.
Stanford students don't have time to say hello in this forum.

Stanford applicants are less obsessive - it's the whole west coast laid back thing.
for everyone still waiting, this is from the faq appended to the end of the interview invite.
Quote:
6. Is there any significance to when I received my interview invitation?
No, the timing of your interview invitation reflects only the order in which your application was reviewed. Interview invitations are extended from about a week after the round's deadline until about a week before the round's notification date, because it takes the Admissions Committee that entire period to review all applications thoroughly.
the notification deadline is march 30th so we have a month or so.. most of the schools are done with interview invitations why Stanford is taking it this slow?

They just historically do...maybe it's to make us feel like they're truly considering everyone...or maybe they actually are

Look at some of the other school threads--for instance, the HBS thread has about 12 consecutive pages of people obsessing over every email notification or blog post from the AdCom, trying to derive some hidden meaning from them that's just not there. Or count the number of posts that boil down to "maybe I'll get my interview invite today, or it might come tomorrow..." or the ones speculating about what time the next batch of invites will be released.
