There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
OK just called the admissions office and asked "are rejections/waitlists being notified now or will they be only notified on the 20th" According to them, they are notifying candidates who were waitlisted/rejected even now...does not mean just because you have been rejected, they wont inform you till the 20th! Phew.. That means, if you have not heard yet ~ they have not made any decision about your case! Once they make a decision, you will hear!

Kudos for the info! Did they definitively say that decisions are going out once they make a decision? Seems like they would have needed to make the majority of the decisions already so that they could send them out in huge batches of calls right now.
there has been over 27,000 views on this thread since yesterday after the decisions were released... O_O

That's actually not as impressive as you think. I'm going to be honest and tell you that I'm probably responsible for ~26,000 of those views. Still 1,000 in one day isn't bad.

I doubt the people making the calls are also inputing the data into the website. If I had to conjecture, I would imagine that the results are all in a big pile which are being data entered into the database. They then probably pull out the contact info for the admits and give them a call. That's probably why there is a delay between you receiving a call and you seeing an update on the website and why you may not hear about a ding/w/l until later on.
Any chance there is a pre-WL waitlist? For instance, your app comes up, they say yep looks OK, probably, but lets see what else is in the pile. If there are some definite no's, he/she moves up. If there are definite yes's, he/she moves down. If there's not a whole lot of movement, they go on the waitlist. Kind of like a purgatory to get into purgatory.
Any chance? Wishful thinking since my interview was in early October?
ALSO, I don't understand how so many people are posting about missed calls. I'm bringing my phone to the bathroom for goodness sake. No way I'm missing the call.
