I just had my co-worker call Kellogg admissions, basically to no avail. Some guy said he knew nothing about them releasing decisions other than the last day to hear from them is december 20 (which we all already know!). This wait is just too much :? :(

I'm guessing a lot of people on the forum are based in the US? I'm based in the UK...the tension I think is worse on this side of the Atlantic. You wake up thinking you might have got an email overnight (as I presume they won't call the uk?)...and carries on all the way til you sleep.

Oh well...I guess its more of the same then. Sigh. :?

Admits roll out slowly at first, and pick up pace closer to the holidays. Dont worry about it guys. One of my best friends and former gmatclub guy got in at like 4:59 cst on deadline day. He lived on the east coast so for him he thought he as done since it was almost 6pm.

There is a new dean so things may operate slightly different in the past too but no need to get overly excited yet.

Thanks river! I guess since people started receiving decisions around this time last year, I was overly hopeful that we would have been hearing something already! I'm going to try my best to forget about it for a few days cause this obssession isn't helping me :)

Hey all, looking for a bit of advice here. I'm a R2 applicant and planning on interviewing on campus. I plan on submitting part 1 this week and requesting an on campus interview Feb 1st as it coincides with a conference I am attending. I'm wondering If I'm required to request an interview date on campus within the 3-4 week time frame after having submitted the application or if there is some type of cutoff date for all rd2 applicants? appreciate your help. Thank you!

Spot on - went to bed around 11pm last night, woke up at 2am, 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am, 7am, 8am to check emails...

Oh my dear god, my sad life...

Good luck guys! I thought I would be done checking these forums so often once I got into school, but now that we are in finals, I am looking for any possible distraction from studying

I'm not sure how things are on here this year, but a lot of us spent our stressful waiting days commiserating in chat (https://gmatclub.com/chat/) and playing trivia to pass time.

As someone who is very much in favour of imagined communities and all that jazz, I think it's time for me to step in say something:

I know fretting seems like the best thing to do right now but seriously, people, it's 8 Dec! Get a grip. And stop checking your application. I mean, they'll send you an email if they've updated your application status. And hard as it is to believe right now, we've all tried our best and if we get dinged, it will not be the end of the world. Chances are, we'll get offer(s) from other schools, go do our MBA degrees and have successful careers. Let's remember this is a means to an end and not an end in itself. Not posting angsty messages on this forum (which then goes out as a notification to many people who have signed up on this thread to receive helpful information and insights!) and preserving what's left of our sanity is Step One. Who's with me?

Another R1 international applicant here. Received an interview waiver initially, then had a phone interview end of November. No news yet.

Hoping for a miracle!

Hey guys:

I was Summer WL last year and was encouraged to reapply this year... Does that mean if my application is about as good this year I am a shoo in???

Thanks.

I wish I could say that is true, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be so for most schools. Only one school I know of--Tuck--says that it historically favors reapplicants, and if you look at the school profile on BW, where applicant percentages are broken down, you'll see that this is true. (That is, compared to the general acceptance rate, the reapplicant acceptance rate is higher.)

All other schools strongly encourage reapplicants, for what I think are three reasons: 1) it's the most polite way of saying "we dinged you, but you could always try your luck next time", 2) the application fees may represent a revenue stream (albeit a very minor one), and 3) a larger applicant pool makes the school look more competitive, so it's in their best interests obviously to encourage reapplicants.

The only thing more annoying than getting an update for a posting of someone freaking out is getting an update for a preachy update (Yes, I realize the irony posting about this). Let people freak out a bit. I'm much more understanding of people freaking out about a $150K investment and the direction of their lives than I am about someone getting upset about people posting on a blog.

So please, if you're at work or at home waiting anxiously, post your thoughts here:
- Did you mistake a muscle spasm for a blackberry email notification of getting dinged? post it
- Did you receive a call from an unidentified number only to find out it was your mom learning how to use Skype phone? post it
- Did you spill coffee all over your desk when you saw an email from Kellogg only to discover that they were only advertising the geogrpahic and ethnic diversity of its alumni base? post it

These updates, mixed in with helpful tips and advice, are good for community. They also increase volume to GMATclub which I'm sure they appreciate!
