But does the new 5 pm timing apply only to dings? I can't imagine them calling admits after 5 pm... What about all those folks in Europe and Asia?

I think it's pretty straightforward: sometime after 5PM they'll email everyone to check their status or just give out the decision outright via email. Soon after they'll start calling admits.

It sounds like they're going to send out a batch email for admits/dings/waitlists all at once, around 5pm Eastern... meaning, no call from your interviewer at all (as they did in previous years), and calls from students after 5pm. (someone correct me if that sounds wrong)

Just called Sarah, administrative assistant, in the office of admissions at sloan.

She said the first notification for all round 1 applicants who haven't been released yet - waitlist, admit, or ding - will be with the 5 pm notification online.

NO ONE WILL BE CALLED PRIOR TO 5 P.M.

So no hope in staring at your phone prior to then! Good luck.

I guess I could concentrate on work for a few hours. Sloan is without a doubt my top choice, so I really hope it works out.

Oh duh! I totally forgot about the red batphone with direct line to Rod Garcia that all threadmasters receive as part of the official threadmaster kit. Now where'd I put that friggin thing??? EFFFFFF!!! :evil:

Haha - I've always thought the batphone should be black instead, but then black doesn't say "hotline" as much.
