Two cars separated by 600 meters start moving towards each other (in opposite direction) with
speeds of 25 m/s and 35 m/s and meet at point A. If they moved in same direction with faster
car chasing slower, they would meet at B. Find distance AB.
1. 1750 mts 2. 1800 mts 3. 2100 mts 4. 2400 mts 5. 2450 mts
Answer: 1750mts
I can't figure out the second case.
Case 1
-------
X.........................................Y
Car C1................................ Car C2
35 m/s...................................25m/s
-->........................|................<--.... -->...............................-->
-----------450m --A-----250m |---------1500m---------------------|B|---
Relative speed of car C1 in case 1 = 60 m/s
so total sec travelled to cross 600 meter is 600/60 = 10 Sec
So Car C2 will go 250 meter left and will meet at point A .
Case 2
----
Similarly in case 2
speed of car = 10 m/s
so total sec travelled to cross 600 meter is 600/10 = 60 Sec
So Car C2 will go 25*60 =1500 meter right and will meet at point B.
So Total distance between A and B is
1500 + 250 = 1750 Meter .
Hope it helps.
