DrNocturnal, I will try to help

Two groups of students - one from Poland and the other from Nigeria - were asked to attend one school semester in Australia. The Polish students were asked to study in a rural area, while the Nigerian students were put up in a city. The knowledge of Australian culture acquired by Polish students was found to be higher than that acquired by the Nigerian students. The researcher concluded that interacting with locals enhances the ability to learn about cultures.

Premise: Group 1 contains students from Poland, Group 2 contains students from Nigeria
Group 1 stayed in rural areas, Group 2 stayed in city
Group 1 acquired knowledge of Australian Culture more than Group 2 acquired.

Conclusion: Interacting with locals enhances the ability to learn about cultures.

Now if you notice the conclusion brings in the new thing i.e. interaction with locals and this new thing enhances the ability to learn about local cultures. From above we can also conclude that Group 1 have interacted with locals more than Group 2 have interacted.

A. The rural areas offer greater opportunities to interact with the locals. Yes that's why Group 1 have interacted with locals more than Group 2 have interacted.

B. The academic value of the programs offered by the two schools was similar. Does not impact my conclusion

C. International exposure in Australia intrigued the students to learn about the local culture. It means both the groups were intrigued to learn about local culture but does not help to identify as to how Group 1 interacted with locals more than Group 2 interacted.

D. The Polish students were more inclined towards knowing the local culture. Again does not impact the conclusion because the conclusion is linked to interaction with locals.

E. International exposure in urban setting is likely to intrigue foreign students about local culture. This breaks my conclusion because if this is true then Nigerian would have better knowledge of local culture.
