First compare the options with before having to leave and before leaving.
so we have option B and E on one side and A,C and D on the other side.

before having to leave is wrong so eliminate option B and E.

Now in A,C and D,

A is suspicious because it has being

Thus we now have two options C and D,
to give to doesn't quite sound correct in option C.

So I go for option D.(Trying putting it in the main sentence that way it will make more sense to you.)

Can any verbal expert please confirm :?:

Can anyone pls explain this?


Grammatical Construction and Idiom
1. Being is not right in GMAT.
2. Give someone something is idiom.
3. It have to complete sentence.

so:
A) Being >> Incorrect.
B) Awkward and wrong idiom
C) Awkward and wrong structure "two week's notice"
D) Correct
E) Awkward.

So the answer is D

Isn't "before Leaving" better than ""having to leave".

Why Option D is incorrect. Could anyone explain please.

D is better then B..
In B, placement of prepositional phrase " of two weeks " changes the meaning.
It illogically conveys that employers are of two weeks..
D correctly changes the phrase before IS as a noun phrase ..
Giving....... IS .....

D is the best answer

Hi Faiyaz321,

There is no official rule about the use of the word "being." Being just like other English words is a valid word and can be used correctly. And thus, to make it a rule would be shooting yourself into the foot. Because, there have been instances where the word "Being" has been used correctly in official questions. One such example of it is here
