Hi all,
I am torn between UCLA Anderson and UW Foster. UCLA and Foster both offered me Forte Fellowship $60k and $20k respectively. That means the tuition cost will come down to around the same amount. A little background on myself.
*Currently working in Sales/Marketing in a Seattle based tech company
*Want to stay in tech but switch function to Product management or Business operations
I also own a house in Seattle so staying means I don't need to go through the headache of renting it out and renting a place in LA. However, I love warm weather and am kind of sick of the rain.
Please help!

Congratulations for the two great admits.
I would prefer UCLA over Foster for following reasons:
1. Although both UCLA and Foster are excellent programs for Tech, UCLA has its own brand value as well.
2. You have already explored Seattle for 9 years, try a new place.
3. As you mentioned the weather in California will be what you want to be in.
4. Scholarship amount of UCLA can help you show case yourself in future.
5. Since the tuition fees is coming the same, try to explore a new world. Trust me it will be a great experience for you.

Congrats on getting into Foster and Anderson.
I think on Paper, Anderson looks better - higher ranked and mor money with better weather. In real world, there is a hassle with moving and renters and relocation and learning to drive in a new city. You also know the UW campus and all around it.
Depends what stage of life you are in. It will be a bit cheaper but more effort to attend Anderson. You will also lose your Seattle network to an extent.
As to schools, I think both will require you to network and recruit off campus. I would probably figure out if you want to try making it in So Cal or basically away from the rain land or if you want to stick around Seattle.

PS. If you are single or don’t have kids, LA is a great place. With kids it is a lot more complicated.
