Hi,there are free versions of the 002 edition (the one with red cover) available online and then there is the 2015 edition with blue cover which needs to be bought. Is there any significant difference between both editions and will the older edition suffice for the preparation?

There are a variety of skills that are needed to perform at a high level on CR, so it might be that using just one book might not be enough to help you to score at that level.
1) How long have you been studying?
2) What materials have you used so far?
3) How have you scored on your CATs (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?
4) What is your score goal?

Are you talking about the Official Guide Verbal Review? One edition is much like another in terms of content quality. Of course, any free edition you find is illegal.
If it's a company's strategy guide, we all update from time to time, but the actual task of Critical Reasoning has been more or less the same for decades.
