Got rejected yesterday. With 680 points and 3.3 gpa, 1 year WE and 2 internships, they awarded me 74 pts out of 80. With 680 it was a long-shot anyway . I should of applied to the Masters in accounting and finance :)

Good luck to the ones still waiting :)

Thanks. I appreciate it.

I went through all the threads from the previous years and it seems that I am basically the first one to ever say he/she was rejected from the program...which is obviously something I am not proud with but I hope it could be useful for the future applicants, to evaluate their chances more realistically :)

Hey guys,

I am considering applying for the next intake. I have a question that however might be best answered by the previous intake :)

I am wondering what my chances are to get admitted if I don't make the 70 points that are required for a direct entry. In other words, my GMAT + GPA is just shy of the 70 points. I however think I would score well on the other two sections and would only need roughly 12-14 points of the outstanding 25 points for motivational letter and the extracurricular activity/international experience to make it to 80.

What share of the student pool usually gets admitted via the 80 point criteria and what are the chances? Are there too many applications that make the 70 points criteria and in turn make it impossible to get admitted via the 80 points criteria?

Thanks!!

Hey Guys, anybody applying for the MBF this year or has already gotten in?

St. Gallen is my top pick and I'm going to apply as soon as my last employer gets around to sending me my letter of reference ;).

I'm a German/US citizen, did my econ undergrad in Mannheim, Germany. GPA of 2.5 on the german scale which is pretty mediocre. GMAT 760, 1 summer internship at a boutique asset management firm, 1 six month internship at a large asset management firm in equity research, 1 six month internship at a boutique IB in Fixed Income trading.

Please post in this thread and share your profiles/thoughts on the programm if your applying/have already gotten in.

Cheers.

FYI, letters of reference are not taken into consideration by the Admissions Committee, just apply, you have a good profile. Watch out the Application Instructions, it is very transparent how they "score" an application.

I edit to post this:

Criteria and corresponding maximum points (as per "MBF Admission Rules"):
50 points GMAT or GRE Test (quantitative reasoning section)
30 points Grade Average at Bachelor's Level
15 points Extracurricular Activities
10 points Letter of Motivation

Regards,

Hi!

I find the admission criteria rather confusing. In total they add up to 105, is it the purpose of scoring 100?

I can't understand why you guys don't answer straight forward?. Partially reply does not help out yet then why you guys act like stupid?. We all need exact information regarding problems. Please walk on straight way.

I'm in a similar situation but I heard that if you don't make the direct entry with (GPA+GMAT) you don't have any chances since in the last couple of years no one was accepted with a lower score, as they always filled the spots with the >70 points aplicants from their GPA+GMAT.
