Unlike and like compare "like nouns". Hospital and doctors are both nouns, but they are not like nouns.
"B" correctly compares mammals of some type with another mammal.
A- mammal compared with verb laying
C- method with mammal
D- mammals with eggs- unlike noun
E- mammals with method- unlike noun.
Does "platypuses" die young? We don't need to know that.
Ans: "B"

Answer is B, idiomatic usage of "Unlike X, Y " is correct.
