Why Option C doesn't reslove the paradox -

Option C mentions individuals (can be both in the older and younger camps), but doesn't explain the paradox. Plus individuals "feel" vs. what is actually the truth is also a logical jump you have to make for answer choice C. Thirdly, it doesn't tie back to the diet-plan.

Seems like we need to re-word this question. Bunuel is my reasoning correct ?

I did not quite understand the solution. When it says individuals who have struggled for many years, it is not clear whether the individual is a young adult or an older adult; hence, choice c is confusing. Please explain.

Thank for the question.

We are told in the passage this: older adults who generally struggle with weight loss. This statement would indicate for us that a group of individuals who is struggling with weight is more likely to contain older adults than younger and thus we can keep it generic in C (ALL adults)

Hi bb,

Can't option B be correct as per the below reasoning ?

Option B states that "Younger adults tend to be more physically active, which can enhance the effectiveness of any diet plan", so any plan will work for younger adults. And its given in question that "Recent surveys indicate that people following our new high-protein diet plan tend to lose more weight than those on traditional diets" so because of this more effective diet plan older adults had also lost weight despite of their struggle. Hence it resolves the paradox that weight loss success rates for both young adults and older adults on this new diet are nearly identical.

Can you please help with what is wrong with the above line of thought ?

Thanks in advance !!
