Like: Compare nouns
As: Compare verbs
In this question "Like" should be the correct answer. Eg: Cats like dogs sometimes play fetch.
Please correct me if I am wrong.

'Like' is used to compare X to Y(noun). whereas 'as' is used to draw a comparison between verbs or clauses. Here the second half defines the clause and hence C is the correct answer.
