Got my call this afternoon too (after being uncertain with that e-mail), in with $20K/year.

Congrats to you and everyone who has received an admit decision! Hang in there if you haven't, I'm not sure if the email was a mistake or not but I would like to think not.
Waitlisted, anybody else? I'm hopeful that things will still turn out well but I'm definitely disappointed. Congrats to those who received good news though!
Got an email saying I was accepted and myowen page reflects my admission, but no call or communication regarding scholarship money...wonder when I'll hear??
Anyone who received the welcome email on the 6th still waiting to hear from the admissions? I assumed all the decisions would have gone out by the 8th?

Disappointing for sure, but doesn't change my impression of the school at all. If you look at that large group gridlocked in the 27-30 cluster, I still feel really good about Vandy and would pick it over any of the others. US News' rating method is also kind of all over the place. I dont like ties, either. I understand that their model might calculate a similar raw score for two schools, but at the end of the day they should make a judement call on who to put ahead of the other.... that's their job.

I completely agree. I still think Vanderbilt provides a lot more than the rankings show. I don't doubt that in a couple of years it will be a top 20 school across all rankings.

I didn't receive email about welcome weekend but didn't receive a call or email on the 8th. My MyOwen page says Application Complete and has said that since the day after my interview. Does anyone think that my interview being on 2/27 affected my decision date? My interviewer said it wouldn't at the end of the interview but I've tried to be patient as today is the 12th...Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do? I was thinking of waiting until tomorrow or Thursday as that would be 2 full weeks after my interview to contact them.
Has anyone been admitted with condition? i.e, take GRE if you have sumbitted GMAT or vice versa? Why do you think they might be requesting this?

hey comiclown, they likely want to get your score out of the GMAT pool since they have to report all GMAT scores but not GRE scores. i guess theyre afraid the score will bring their "average" down if its not super high. probably has to do with future rankings.
You should ask if they might be willing to lay for your test. It could also be that they don't think your scores represent your strengths and want to see how you do in another. This might also lead to a scholarship.
Am I the only one who found out about my admission from the My Owen page and never got a call about admission and $? My interviewer, the Director of Admissions, did email me on March 11 saying she wished she could have called but was in Europe, but I'm still waiting to hear on $ from the mail...I thought the waiting part would be over by now.
Here's my theory, regarding the GMAT score condition: Vanderbilt was supposed to release the decision by the deadline March 8th. Just then the ranking went down by 5 places (source US News ranking). They must have made a last minute decision to not release admission decisions for some of the applications with GMAT scores that might keep Vanderbilt's average down. Not that I blame them but it was hard to understand why there was no communication by the decision deadline. Thoughts?
