Veritas GMAT Practice Test Accuracy

Question

I am scheduled to take the gmat over the next couple of weeks and have finished the online Veritas prep course. The course helped (increased my score about 70 points from a 560ish range to the 630ish range), however, I am curious if anyone found the Veritas practice gmat tests to be harder/easier/similar to the actual test. My target score is 650.

I found them a bit tougher than GMAT Prep mocks especially Quant section.

If you’re scoring around 630 in Veritas mocks, I think you have a very good chance for 650 in actual exam.

From my humble experience, the quant was more tough but the verbal was similar or even slightly easier when compared to the official mock and the actual test.
But overall, the end score was near to the actual gmat test

In My personal experience, Veritas tests are bit hard. Given that you want to assess your performance level, i would rather you write an official test. It can give you fair idea about your prep level.

It's understandable that you would want to work with realistic practice CATs/mocks - and the Official CATs as well as the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all highly realistic (relative to the Official GMAT). That having been said, there are a variety of factors that can influence your performance on your practice CATs that have nothing to do with the 'brand' of CAT that you are using (including the time of day you take your test, how well-rested you are, the environment that you take the test in, etc.).

Before I can offer you any additional advice for your studies, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

Studies:
1) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
2) What study materials have you used so far?
3) On what dates did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?

Goals:
4) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Thanks everybody. I have heard mixed things, but sounds like the Veritas exams are either in line or maybe slightly harder. Lets hope I can put it all together and get a 650+ on test day.

I recently had the following scores:
650 - Veritas Prep #1
680 - Official GMAT Prep #2
660 - Veritas Prep #2

Does anyone have any recent experience of how accurate the Veritas Prep tests are? My target is around 680.

Hi max2206,

While the most realistic CATs available are the 6 from GMAC, the CATs from Kaplan, MGMAT and Veritas are all 'close enough' to the real thing that they will provide you with a relatively realistic score assessment (assuming that you correctly take the CAT in a realistic fashion that matches the parameters of what you will face when you take the Official GMAT).
