I have gone through the 8 MGMAT guides and almost all the problems from the OG and the two reviews. I only have to complete some RC problems. Overall, I will need to get much better in quant than in verbal...it is kind of a paradox because I am a non-native speaker. However, it does not surprise me since I only had Stats I and II in college.
I could use some suggestions on how to move on in both sections. I kept an error log all the way from the beginning so it is a plus. But I am not sure whether at this stage it is all about doing problems from the log or maybe start re-reading some specific chapters where I am particularly weak. Any other insights are more than welcome.
I am in no rush to take the test but I want to get it done ASAP because no one likes studying for a test like GMAT
By the way, I have another question. As I said, I did not have any good math courses in college. Does that mean that I would have to do really well in the quant section to prove to adcom that I can meet the requirements of the curriculum?

First and foremost Take a diagnostic test to see where u stand as of now and which all areas u need to lay stress for e.g if u score Q 35 and V 45 then u must pay maximum duration on Quant with little or no focus on verbal and vice-versa if ur score is Q 45 and V 35.
try to identify ur weak areas and strive for improvement in those areas for e.g if ur Geometry is weak and inequalities is good then u may devote more time first to solidify the concepts of Geometry and then do a number of geometry problem till you feel easy with them. Till u don't have strong base of fundamentals, even doing problems or reviewing them won't help. Use ur error log to identify ur weak areas and work upon those areas in two ways
1) understand basic concept pertaining them
2) do simple problems followed by medium and hard level problems of that particular topic.
about ur second Question
to get the score ur aiming at(740) , u have to score well in both otherwise u won't get what ur looking at. Ofcourse if ur Quant score is too low, it will catch the adcom's eyes....
try to identify ur weak areas and strive for improvement in those areas for e.g if ur Geometry is weak and inequalities is good then u may devote more time first to solidify the concepts of Geometry and then do a number of geometry problem till you feel easy with them. It may be true, that your verbal is stronger than your Quant, but that's not a problem.
1. Review your error log once or twice
2. Do a CAT to gauge your level and localize some weak areas
3. Re-read books/chapter from MGMAT
It's really about motivation. You'll definitely see a significant improvement in a certain area if you read for a second time a particular MGMAT book. it's worth the time.
