IS it right time for going for GMAT?

Question

Hey guys,
I am a 3rd year guy pursuing his electrical and electronics engineering from Delhi College of Enginering. I am thinking of giving my GMAT exam this december. Is it the right time for me to give my exam. And what colleges can i apply to for deferred MBA's. Are there any programs wherein i can go for my MBA degree just after completing my college.

Hi Arjsirvastav

You can target ISB YLP program. Its specifically for young graduates in final year. You ll get deferred admission and have to join the course post 2 yr work ex.
Additionally if you are looking for MIF programs abroad you can apply as a fresher.
But giving GMAT now and applying for colleges say 4 years from now would not be a good thing. Colleges generally prefer scores not more than 3 years old

Where did you hear this? As far as I know, schools don't really care about how old your GMAT score is, as long as it is still valid. Unless  arjsrivastav  applies to a program that specifically asks for GMAT scores from tests taken in the last 3 years, he should be fine all the way up to 5 years.

Hi arjsrivastav,

The process of working on your applications (taking the GMAT, essay writing, etc.) and ultimately attending Business School requires a substantial amount of time, money and effort on your part, so it's important to really think about what YOU want out of your degree. If a deferred Program is one of your priorities, then you can certainly work with that goal in mind. However, if you have a strong GMAT score and earn a couple of years of solid work experience, then you could apply to pretty much ANY Program in a few years time.

Is there any particular reason why you're thinking about deferred Programs?
