I'm taking my GMAT in 2 days and I've done Veritas, Manhattan, and official GMAT Mocks.
My Veritas verbal scores have been siginificantly worse than the other two (35 and 39s through 6 mock tests vs. 43-46 for both Manhattan and official). I chalked that up to Veritas SC being harder than others, similar to how Manhattan quant is harder than official ones (supposedly) since my %s seem to fit the scores for each test provider.
But today, I got an even weirder output from my Veritas test. My quant scores have been consistently going up through all the mocks, starting from 45 all the way up to 50 from my 5th Veritas test. However, in my 6th test I got a 47, which would have been fine if I screwed up questions but when I reviewed the test, I only got 3 questions wrong.
To compare: I scored a 47 in my 2nd Veritas mock where I got 13 wrong, a 48 in the 3rd, where I got 10 wrong, a 49 in the 4th with 6 wrong, and a 50 in the 5th with 4 wrong.
I can't understand how my score could drop to 47 when I have the least number of mistakes in this test and my mistakes were spread out (on questions 4, 14, and 23). It seems to indicate that, despite getting questions right, the CAT algorithm didn't give me more difficult questions

As someone who had to wreck my brain over how to build a CAT tests and a good scoring algorithm, I can relate to some of the challenges involved in building a perfect CAT - question database. By the time you take test 6 you are going to be running short on certain questions, of certain type or certain difficulty - that results in a few side effects, one of which is having to compensate for this issue. I have not seen this issue with Veritas Prep but I have heard other tests being different in terms of difficulty or scoring by the time you take the last test.... You just exhausted all of the hard questions in the first 5 attempts. This does not mean that your score is wrong however. Tests are built with assumptions (similarly you would run out of super easy questions by the end if your score was sub 30 for Quant). We do the same in the GMAT Club tests.

I mainly just need the email address that you use to log in to our adaptive testing system. We can then take a very detailed look at your exact tests (down to your estimated ability level after you answered each question!) and ensure that everything went as it should have.
