Hi,

I wanted to know how much likely is getting 3 RCs back to back(or even 2) in an actual GMAT Exam ?

While I was practicing today on GMAT Prep Online platform, I got 3 RCs back to back, that to at teh starting of the exam of the exam !!

Ques No Ques Type
1 Short RC Q1
2 Short RC Q2
3 Short RC Q3
4 CR QUES
5 Long RC Q1
6 Long RC Q2
7 Long RC Q3
8 Long RC Q4
9 Short RC Q1
10 Short RC Q2
11 Short RC Q3

I was totally stumped by this and thrown off the track.
I am slow with RCs so in general I try to save time on SC Questions and use it on RC.
But this totally destroyed my timing strategy and I screwed up the whole test !

I just want to know the likelihood of such situation on actual GMAT, so that I can be better prepared for it.

PS: Sorry for the poor formatting of table. I dont know how to insert tables!
It's very unlikely that the GMAT will front-load almost all (3 out of 4!) passages. Maybe this will help some test takers who like working on the same question type, without having to switch between SC, CR, and RC, but I really hope that this is just due to some issue with the programming of the online version of the GMATPreps.

That said, I do think it's a good idea to go through multiple scenarios when working on your timing strategy.

It was actually good and I got just 3 wrong in the first 11 questions(considering that I score consistently around V35) but the RCs really drained me off, and I could barely sit for the last 6 questions, got 4 of them wrong.
Also, in terms of timing, this sort of situation throws you off track !!

But, in all now I have 1 less scenario to surprise me in the exam ! :D

That's a great way to look at it. You're getting better (and better!) at taking the exam every time something like this happens :-)

This Exact same thing happened to me as well on OG Practice 4:

Questions 1-3, RC 1: 225 Words
Question 4: CR - evaluate the argument
Questions 5-8, RC 2: 361 Words
Questions 9-11 RC 3: 222 Words

Really weird
