We received a confirmation from GMAC that you can indeed schedule multiple GMAT appointments.
While not useful for many, why schedule multiple appointments and set yourself up for a failure so to speak, this option was NOT available in the past. However, there has been a change to the policy with GMAC confirming. While not ground-breaking, this news is helpful, and a step into the positive direction of giving additional options to test-takers.
Why do you need to book multiple test appointments? The main reason would be to hold spots for Test-center based GMAT Classic that will be discontinued on Jan 31, 2024 and if you want to take it at a test center, you may want to grab a spot. Keep in mind the cancelation and refund policies are pretty strict but if you are in a bind for the R2 applications, you can consider booking it out in advance. Below is the confirmation we received from GMAC. Posting in a separate topic to make it easier to locate than in a
20-page GMAT Focus Topic.
1. Are applicants allowed to book multiple appointments for the GMAT Classic Exam from now until Jan 31, 2024? Or in general this policy has been changed?
GMAC Representative: To clarify candidates can have multiple future appointments scheduled, e.g.:
Candidates can have multiple future appointments scheduled across exam versions and channels. However, only one appointment can be booked at a time, and appointments must be scheduled at least 16-days apart. Our 12-month and lifetime limits also apply across exam versions and channels - only 5 attempts are permitted in a rolling 12-month period and 8 attempts in a lifetime.
2. Can a person book an online test and an in person test that are fewer than 16 days apart? Does the 16 day rule apply in any case or does it only apply in case the same test format is taken again? (repeat version of the question just in case)
GMAC Representative: The 16-day rule applies regardless of the delivery method a candidates choose.
