When do schools normally release the new deadlines and essay topics for the next year of intakes? I'm hoping to apply in round 1 to a few schools and I understand the deadlines will likely be in September but I'm just wondering when the essay topics will be released to make sure I plan my time this summer. Thanks!
Last year, the ED schools (Columbia and Fuqua) released theirs in May and then other folks followed suit in June and July, the ones with deadlines in Sept, released sooner than those with deadlines in Oct. You will have about 2.5-3.5 months to work on the R1 essays/packages, so get your other ducks in a row - GMAT, recommenders identified, and if using a consultant, make sure you have selected the firm so you don't have to fumble later and waste precious days on that. I know some folks have historically practiced writing essays for last year's topics - not sure I have a strong opinion on that.... i never had that kind of time on my hands or enjoyed that enough to torture myself, but essays often stay unchanged, though the last application season was much different from the past in terms of requirements and deadlines, so we'll see what the future holds.
