Hello paridhiprasad

Although a good score (720+) is always recommended, without knowing more about you Paridhi, I'm not sure if I would advice a re-attempt.
Also mid Aug might be too late for R1. This is because a good application can take 4-6 weeks if you start from scratch. So you will be diluting the quality of your written application if you rush it.
In short-good idea to retake the GMAT but only if you are 100% sure of improving the score by at least 30-40 points.
If not, you rather spend your energy on building a strong application.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I want to take a re-attempt. I have already given twice.

CAT 1 : 10-12-16 ; Score :520
CAT 2 : 24-05-18 ; Score :680

I want to submit my app on R1. Can I plan to take my re-attempt by mid of Aug?

Hi paridhiprasad,

680 is on the lower side for ISB, especially if you have a conventional profile that in no way separates you from the remaining applicant pool. Hence, to give you a more holistic review, we request you to share your profile details with us.

While you can technically take the GMAT in mid-August, it is recommended that you do so slightly earlier so you have plenty of time to prepare a strong application for ISB (Of course, it goes without saying that you need to feel completely ready before taking the exam :-)) Writing essays, defining career goals, and deliberating on ones's strengths takes time and it is best if you have some quality time for your application. This, of course, is only possible if you are done with the GMAT.

All the best! :-)
