I heard that for GPA ranges and averages in class profiles only US universities are counted.
I couldn’t find anything supporting this claim by googling. Is it true?
Posted from my mobile deviceInteresting question. I checked class profiles of 3 US schools - Stanford, HBS, and Haas.
Stanford categorically mentions that the average GPA showed in their class profile is for US schools.
Haas doesn't say anything about the GPA average and range showed on the class profile.
HBS says their GPA average is based on the students whose schools use a 4 point grading scale. (It means the non-US schools that use 4 point grading scale have also taken in to consideration). From these three examples, we can say that different schools use different methods to calculate average GPAs of their incoming class and they are not necessarily only US based.
