I want to pursue Marketing/HR after completion. I know I shld have decided by now. I'm definately leaning toward HR. But not that many schools (from what i've researched) have a good HR placement record.

For now i'm looking at Purdue, Vanderbilt, Yale, Judge, Emory and Oxford... i'm not looking at the top 15 US schools because i'm thinkin its pretty out of reach, but i've been told with my background that i may have a shot.

The 1st two schools i'm a little more confident off. But what are my chances at the rest and where else can i apply?

Thanks for ur taking a look at it!

I would discourage you from applying to Yale. You are more competitive at Purdue, Judge, and Oxford, but none are safety programs. You have a competitive profile for Vanderbilt.

Best,
Linda

Thanks Linda!

Is Emory a long shot as well?? I was also thinking of appying to Kelly but I don't know where I stand based on my score and profile. I've heard most Indians have an average GMAT score of 700 but that they also mostly come from IT/Finance backgrounds, i'm a little lost. Are there any other good schools I can look at applying to??

You have a slightly less competitive profile for Emory and Kelley than for Vanderbilt, but those schools make sense for you. You may also want to consider Tulane. If you are interested in global marketing, Thunderbird is a good option.

Do i have a less competitive profile only because of my GMAT score or because both my GMAT score and work ex aren't great together?

I've shortlisted on Purdue, Vanderbilt and Cambridge i want to shortlist 3 others one of which I can keep as my dream school. I've read that Cornell has a great HR placement record. So i'm thinking of applying there (Super Dream School). I'm hopin to shortlist some beter schools and get started on my apps soon. Thanks for all your insights Linda, really helped a lot!
