Hi,
I need some advise on the following:
After one year in my first job, I left the job and studied for the entrance exams of MBA colleges. After 7 months I didnt make it to my desired college, so decided to go for the second job.
I am reporting this gap in my optional essay. But I have no idea of how the add comm. will take this. Any suggestion/strategy how to address this issue?? Frankly I am looking for ideas to make it look better.

Are you saying you took a year off work to study for the GMAT? What else did you do in that time?
If you didn't do much other than study, then there's not a whole lot you can say other than telling the truth - you can't spin something like this into anything positive. Telling the truth is probably the least worst thing you could do.

I gave Indian entrance exams (CAT) and took a break for 8 months for this exam.... But this was back in 2004..
I gave my GMAT in 2008.. ( and didnt have to take a break from work this time..
.. and still managed a ok score of 720..)
