2 1/2 years at IB in SF 1999-2002
Self Employed 5 years(auto dealership)
2 years as Personal Banker-
2 years Bank Manager: Ranked #1 branch in CA based on various profitability metrics
Now, Financial Analyst in Bank:
Trying to learn all aspects of banking to one day become CEO...

Education
Undergrad GPA: 2.7 Cal Poly SLO--Plan to address this in essay...Immaturity, pure and simple.
Passed all 3 levels of the chartered financial analyst program(completed 6/2010). Hoping this shows intellectual curiosity/capability..??

Reason for MBA
Aspire to become CEO of bank, hence the career progression through the ranks thus far. MBA will provide the needed managerial skill-set to continue to progress towards that goal. Last 5 years of employment history, I'm hoping, shows the proper career path to become CEO, along with the CFA that provides me the capability to understand how bank balance sheets are managed.

Misc
Volunteer: Local food bank
Collegiate athlete, Division I. Drafted by 2 different professional baseball teams.
Avid tennis player, golfer and basketball player.

GMAT
Studying now.

Obviously, a higher GMAT score is favorable to a lower one, but is there a certain band I need to be within to be competitive? Also, I know the acceptance rate @ Haas Evening Weekend is approx. 33%, is there anything else I can do to bolster my chances?

The EWMBA program at Berkeley Haas has a median GMAT score of 700, and the 80% range is 640-750. That's your target, and the higher the better. The other thing you can do to bolster your chances is to use your essays to full advantage, showing direct connections between your experiences, your goals to become the bank's CEO and the MBA program. A key component will be your leadership skills, which are all about people. Finally, the IV is a very important element of the process so be sure to prepare well for that.
