If one moves out of the dorm, one is required to drop the class -- you cannot participate in the class if you don't live in the dorm.

I also was fortunate enough to find out that I'm able, with the teacher of the residential college systems approval (which I was fortunate enough to get), to get the class removed entirely from my transcript. This is currently in the process of being done.

Still, I'm really curious as to what occurs when a student has a W on his or her transcript and applies to an MBA program.

I have a few myself. Two were dropped because it had no relevance to my future goals. Others because of scheduling, but I retook these and got great grades in the classes.

Not sure what effect there would be, but I would assume if you have an upward trend with decent difficulty, you'd have no issues.
