The MBA was specific to my employer. It was a program where the bank, collaborated with a recognized university, trained people in banking. The mba was part of my training and a compulsion for me to get absorbed into the bank and work there.

Also I wish to work my way into the higher executive management in banking. will an MSfin be fine or an MBA in finance will better serve my goal.

Also how do schools rate a few years, 2 years in my case, before entering banking, of experience in family business( small scale service sector)?

Thanks :o

If you want to move into bank management, an MBA is probably more appropriate, as an MSFin has a narrower focus. However, it's not impossible to move into management with the MSFin.

With respect to your 2 years in the family business, the schools will look at your reasons for leaving. If your long term goals are in banking, then this should not be a major hurdle.
