I wanted your suggestion on second recommender:
One of my recommender is my manager/supervisor at work. I've known him for the past 2 years.
My second recommendation is from my supervisor from community work(environmental conservation). He has been the in-charge of many activities I've undertaken during community work(2003-2006). I've knew him for 3 years earlier(03'-06'). Then I left the country for 4 years. I came back an year ago and have been in-touch with him and worked with him on few campaigns in the past one year. I've had very good relationship with him and he knows my managerial, teamwork and leadership abilities pretty well(better then my colleagues).
I've already submitted my application for LBS.
I have the following questions:
1. Is it fine to get an LOR from someone from community work?
2. If yes, LBS mentions 2 professional LORs. I read somewhere that community work is a professional setting. So, will this LOR work, or will it be a problem for my application?
3. Should I continue the rest of my applications with the same second recommender, or rather get an LOR from a colleague.

If your community service is related to your profession, the second recommender is an outstanding choice. If your community service and profession are unrelated, but the recommender can comment more authoritatively on your professional qualities, specifically the ones you mention above, then I think he is still a good choice. The question is not whether "someone" somewhere wrote that professional includes community service; it is whether this recommender is the best one after your current boss and whether LBS (and your other target programs) agree with the anonymous author you are relying on. For the specific answer to the latter question, you need to contact LBS. I'm not sure, but for most schools if the recommender knows you well and can comment on professional traits, the schools are happy, especially if the first recommender is your current boss.
Regarding the first question, whether other people would be better, I can't say until I learn about the other potential recommenders.

Thanks for your wonderful and highly informative response!
My other choices are:
1. My current colleagues I've known for an year.
2. My past colleagues that I've known for an year in the past.
3. My past manager 2 years back. I knew him for about an year.
My colleagues are certainly the best ones to talk of my teamwork skills.
The reason for my current selection:
1. Although the community work is not related to my profession, I've known this recommender for a long time.
2. He has seen me grow and take on leadership roles for a very long time.
3. He has seen me mange people and work in teams(not related to my profession, but related to community work). He can very well comment on my interpersonal and team skills.
4. As I got in touch with him after coming back, it may show my networking skills as well.
5. We can influence our colleagues, to some extent, to write in our favor. But this recommender, being on an authoritative/administrative position, seems more reliable(from the adcom's perspective).
The reason I'm not asking LBS at this time is because I should have done this earlier before submitting the application(my bad!). This may show that I'm not proactive.
From your comments it seems that my choice is not all bad, and this won't disqualify my application, and rather may add value to it.
Please suggest me, if I should continue with the same, or choose from the other 3 options.
