I'm looking to apply to B schools next winter (to begin school in the fall of 2012). I'm trying to get a feel for which schools to target. I'd like to target UVA, Texas, UCLA; with long shots of Kellogg and Cal-Berkley (Haas). Can you review my brief background below and let me know what you think? Thanks.
Relative Strengths:
CFA charterholder
GMAT - 710
Good writing skills for essays
Strong interpersonal skills for interviews
Relative Weaknesses:
Work Experience
2 years as regional manager of boutique marketing firm in Dallas, TX
For the past 3.5 years, financial analyst associate for small New York office of a very large, Dallas-based commercial real estate firm - primary responsibilities include acquisition/disposition analysis of commercial office real estate in NYC, lease analysis, due diligence, business development, etc.
Education
University of Georgia, Political Science (2.8 GPA) - May '06 Graduation
Goals after school
Investment Management industry in Dallas, TX - Hedge Funds, PE, or possibly PWM.

You're choosing the right range of schools -- UVA, UCLA, Haas are sweet spots, Kellogg is a stretch, and Texas a safety. A lot of it will come down to how well you execute the application, and of course a bit of good luck as well.
