Sorry to hear about your dings.

To be honest, the only thing you can really focus on is your written application and interviews. And at work, hopefully you'll continue to progress (i.e. get more responsibilities or work on bigger projects, maybe even a promotion as time goes on).

But *starting* an extracurricular and *achieving* something are very different things -- most of the significant things people have achieved in their lives usually is a culmination of years of hard work and sacrifice. Not just a few months.

Again, focus on doing a better job on your applications next year. That's about all you can do. And if you want to start getting involved in something that is meaningful to you -- do so because you want to; it should be something you would be doing anyways even if you weren't interested in b-school.

Thanks Alex

Seriously it seems like you have a solid application... But one thing is the top 5 schools are so competitive that I heard so many stories like yours ( same scenario and they didn't get in), but don't get discouraged. Improve the essays in your app. as you mentioned do some extra crucial (which I'm not sure how helpful that could be) and get more experience in wealth management ( be able to show some track record and happy clients per se)

But more than anything press on and don't get discouraged....
