Give it a shot. Your have an impressive profile, strong acads, will count as diversity candidate not just by region but also by range of experiences. You may not have a very strong GMAT but it is also not very weak and in the vicinity of the median score of your target schools. While your military experience will be counted as a work experience, the 1 year TA may not. Irrespective, it is a good thing to write on your resume under the acads.

The one thing you may have to address in your application is providing a convincing story of why you started with computers (Bachelors and Masters), worked in software, then left to join army and then came back to the software field. If the military service was some sort of mandatory requirement, it should be fine.

Good luck!

Since you are aiming for top schools then a score above 700 is desirable. Looking at the 2012 class profile at Harvard the students scored in the range of 550-790 in their GMAT and the median GMAT score was 730. Similarly at Wharton’s MBA class of 2012 the students scored in the range of 650-770 in their GMAT and the median GMAT score being 720. Hence a higher GMAT score is advisable if you are aiming for top institutes abroad. Also the GMAT alone won’t determine your chances of admission; your work experience plays a vital role as well. If you can improve your GMAT score you will be in much safer and better position.

Generally most of the applicants have a good 4-5 years of work experience. Although it is not just the work experience that counts but also what you did there like-what were your achievements, what initiative you took, what changes you drove in your workplace etc. So if you can show that in 4 years you have demonstrated the skills business schools are looking for you could put in a strong set of essays.

Hence the quality of your work, your academics and beyond academics will play an important role in determining your candidature. Its time you start thinking what makes you unique and what’s that ‘hook’ that will be key to your application.
