Hi,
I know this is kind of a hypothetical question, but I am looking for some advice on my chances to get into top 10-15 b-schools, specifically w.r.t to GPA.
1. I have an equivalent undergrad GPA of 3.8 from a premier engineering
institute in India.
2. I also have Masters in engg from a top 30 US graduate engg. schools
with a major GPA of 3.54 and cumulative GPA of 3.25 (Due to 2 non-
major courses in a single quarter, courses not atall related to MBA
courses ). My concern is how my 3.25 cumulative GPA be viewed in
admission in top -tier schools. I am yet to take GMAT and shooting for
700+ score.
3. I have 5+ yrs of good job exp
I am planning to app in Fall '06. My concern is how 3.25 GPA (3.54 major GPA) is viewed. Is it possible not to send grad transcript atall and just undergrad ? Do the schools only consider undergrad GPAs as I see in many of their published Class profiles ?
Any advice will be appreciated.

That in of itself should not be too much of a concern. Couple things going for you:
1) Undergraduate grades are weighed more heavily than graduate grades, because they are the common denominator (ie not everyone has graduate grades)
2) Engineering is viewed as the most difficult of all specializations to pursue and as such there is an anticipated discount to those grades.
A strong GMAT will be a key factor to your sucess... but don't forget there are many others too.

1) When you say strong GMAT, based on my profile, what is the score
range you would consider strong for success in top 10 ?
2) Also, as per my last question, I was trying to find out when I show my
graduate work in my app, do I have to show or mention any reason for
my 3.25 cumulative GPA or is it not needed ?
