Hi
I have been running a event management business for 2 years. Does the lack of a formally structured atmosphere work against my application?
Will be applying to some of the programs in the BW 20-40 rankings with a B- GPA and 640 GMAT.

That depends on the size and sophitication of your event management business. If you were planning and running large events costing hundreds of thousands of dollars and requiring organizational skills, quantitative abilities, and leadership, then the lack of formal structure would not be a problem. If your business was on a fairly small and simple scale, then it might work against you incomparision with other applicants. If you also have more typical or qualitatively competitive experience on your resume, then the event planning would be less of a problem even if the scale is still modest.

Thanks for your prompt response. Perhaps I can provide some more information.
I started the business right after graduating with a computer science degree. I have worked on successful events with budgets up to $50,000. I have a solid plan for expansion and some unique ideas. My goal is to invest in the MBA and add to the resources to take the business to the next level.
I have a wealth of volunteer/leadership experience in community service and some business roles.
At present starting applications for Michigan State, Univ of Rochester and Kelly (Indiana). My GPA in the last 2 years was 2.5.
